What is a Home Warranty?

A home warranty is a service contract that provides protection and coverage for your appliances, home systems such as plumbing, and more in case a covered breakdown occurs, and you're in need of repair or replacement.

The benefit of a home warranty is that it can save homeowners thousands of dollars in repairs as, on average, homeowners make two claims per year.

Home warranty plans work alongside, and are secondary to, your homeowner's insurance. Homeowner's insurance protects you from external sources and unforeseen events (i.e., wind, tornados, hurricanes, etc.), and a home warranty protects the appliances and systems in your home if they experience mechanical breakdowns. Our coverage is also secondary to any insurance, warranties, or guarantees already provided with your home's appliances or systems.

How Does a Home Warranty Work?

A home warranty typically covers homeowners for the costs, repair, or replacement of major, non-commercial grade equipment. It's that simple.

If a covered system or appliance suffers a covered mechanical breakdown, such as your water heater or refrigerator, the home warranty will cover or greatly reduce the costs to fix it.
